Mr. Izzo received his Bachelor’s degree in Political Science summa cum laude from Bradley University in 1978. He was awarded his Juris Doctor degree cum laude from the University of Illinois College of Law in 1982. For two years following his graduation from law school, he served as law clerk to the Honorable George W. Lindberg of the Illinois Appellate Court, Second District. His legal practice has focused in the areas of school law, park district law, real estate taxation, appellate work, constitutional law, election law, board procedures and defense of local governments in civil rights litigation. His work experiences include the Illinois county Problems Study Commission of the Illinois General Assembly and the Legal Department of the City of Urbana, Illinois. Mr. Izzo has co-authored the chapter on Church-State Issues and Civil Rights Litigation in the last several editions of the Illinois Institute for Continuing Legal Education’s treatise on Illinois School Law. He has acted as counsel to numerous educational and municipal officers' electoral boards. He is a member of the Chicago Bar Association. He is also a member of the Illinois Bar Association and has served on its Tax Rate Subcommittee. Mr. Izzo was also a member of the Bench-Bar Committee of the Cook County Circuit Court which drafted Circuit Court Rule 10.8 on tax objection procedures.
